However it’s not as aggressive a climber as Banks Rose, which I’ve seen at the top of more than one power line, or as weighty as Wisteria. While playing with this active problem, you’ll notice everything being rougher on the eyes. One of the most common issues is when your CS:GO game starts to lose frames. We’ll do our best to cover all of them, then go through several methods for resolving the problems in the later sections. In rare cases, lag can randomly happen without a notable cause and sometimes result in unrelated fixes that work. On the other hand, issues can appear because of your computer’s resource usage or the game’s unoptimized setting. Steam updates Counter-Strike frequently and that can trigger problems in your game if an unforeseen bug snuck its way into the patch. There are many possible solutions to fixing your performance issues, so our Apex Hosting guide will walk you through all of them to find the best fix for lag on your CG:GO server. This is especially true for client-specific issues such as Steam encountering bugs or game settings limiting your hardware’s potential to run Counter-Strike efficiently. The causes of your lag widely vary because of CS:GO’s design, which can make finding fixes challenging. ![]() In an intense combat situation where every shot counts, freezing and stuttering will impact your aim, thereby causing you to lose the fight.

Hells Canyon, believe it or not is the deepest river gorge in North America. This was the prize we’d come to see and it was beyond all my expectations. It’s immense and so very vast it completely blows your mind. The sense of scale is impossible to comprehend. In the background the sharp, white peaks of the Seven Devils rose towering in defiance against the land and in the depths of the canyon (an interminable, unimaginable distance away) ran the Snake River. Not a patch of ground was bare from flower giving the impression you were walking through a kaleidoscope, the patterns moving and shifting with the breeze. The perch, the overlook with the 80-foot watchtower and the prize of Hell’s Canyon in front of us. I guess Hell wanted us to have an easy time getting there?įinally, after what can only be described as one of the very prettiest drives we’ve ever done we got to the end. It was certainly narrow, and twisting, and sharp, but none of the bumping and pot holes I’d been expecting and certainly nothing requiring a 4WD. It was even, dare I say it, extraordinary (I learned later they’d just graded it a few weeks ago). Between the trees and the flowers we drove along the ridge, curving towards the fire tower in the distance. Not just a few, but a carpet of dense color blues, purples, reds, yellows all forming a rainbow of visual beauty. ![]() That’s where the windflowers came, oh my the windflowers. iPhone Panorama from the overlook Paul contemplates the view Wildflowers & canyon foldsĪround 10 miles in we started moving into the trees, dense pine, ash and others I don’t know, many tinged with memories of a burn from long ago. The gorge pushed ever further into the ground, the sides wrinkling and re-forming as we drove ever higher. The mountain seemed to rise above us into the sky, the canyon appeared to drop and grow beneath us. The road twisted and turned and rose sharply along the mountains edge following the golden contours of the canyon, revealing ever more heights and folds. Then the pavement ended and the uphill started. 35 miles of deserted, paved road took us on a beautiful drive deep into the first canyon and to the tiny town on Imnaha, the last call before the start of Hell’s Road (Hat Point Road). So early yesterday morning we packed up the car and off we went. Damned if I was going to let that road stop me.Īm I going to ease up on my Devillish analogies? I think not. A view beyond all views, a beauty beyond all beauties. Who knows if our car (or me) could even make it? But I’d been assured the rewards for reaching into the depths of Hell would be Heaven on Earth, such as it is. We rarely ever do more than 50-mile day trips, and usually even less when dirt roads are involved. The curvy road into the canyon The curvy road to Hat Point Overlook Plus getting to Hell was going to push me to the very limits of what my feeble car-sick stomach could handle. This latter road is a hellish drive, not unexpectedly, requiring 24 grueling miles of single lane dirt, twisting and curving with 16% grades, steep drop offs and very little info. One guy told me it was a piece of cake, another told me I’d be crazy to try it. There are many ways to Hell, as you might expect, but apparently only one where you can really see it. You see my research had popped up conflicting reports. I’d been planning it for a while, seeing as it’s quite a trip to get there, but I was still wavering about whether to go. It’s not every day you get to go to Hell and see the Devil, well all 7 incarnations of him anyway. Granted, I’m not much of a fisherman outside of Ice Lakes, but a simulation game shouldn’t be this much of a mystery, especially when it comes to the fundamentals. I had no idea what I was doing for a solid hour, and it was downright frustrating. Basic tutorials weren’t available to lead me through the elementary game mechanics. In my defense, though, Ice Lakes didn’t provide me with any guidelines. The movement is almost so unnoticeable that if my vision were to stray elsewhere for even just a moment, the fish would disappear from my life forever. Turns out, there is a very subtle movement of the fishing pole that is a cue to reel in the prized possession. I scooped the accumulating ice from my ice hole, I drastically relocated the position of my pole, yet here I was – an apparently very terrible fisherman. I was doing my duties and following the basic yet sparse recommendations that occasionally appeared on screen. Ten minutes later, I became antsy because nothing was happening. The fishing pole descended into the open hole of water and I simply waited. I came to terms with this as soon as I plopped my avatar down on a virtual frozen lake and drilled through the ice to begin my journey as a fisherman. In some ways it is, but at times the attention to realism detracts from the fun.Ībove everything else, patience is essential in Ice Lakes. Overall, it gives the impression of being an entertaining fishing simulator, not to mention a visually appealing one. The physics and mechanics appear brilliant, and they are. Becoming acquainted with changing seasons and weather conditions corresponds with the behavior of the fish, which ultimately provides a real-life experience. Ice Lakes is both a single and multiplayer ice fishing simulator developed by Iceflake Studios. ![]() I've noticed that HBO seems to be aggressive about their shows at times and I've gotten a bunch of HBO stuff in the past and I'm just assuming that this time I was just DLing something at the wrong time. It took me longer than intended to finish writing this because I got caught up in a "research" match. Seriously, I'm kind of geeking out about it. ![]() Some of that stuff looks really cool and useful.Įven with the somewhat questionably walled-off content, Star Warfare: Alien Invasion is still an excellent and rewarding game. It doesn't break the experience, but it is rather disappointing. My only real issue is that Mythril (the special money) doesn't seem like it can be earned in-game, which means certain gear and items are totally off-limits to players who aren't willing to sink some extra cash into their game. There's no real way to directly communicate with other players, but the maps are small enough that it's difficult to get lost or separated. The boss fights are even more of a high point, with plenty of challenge to go around (even with a full team) but also massive payoffs. The real meat of it all lies in Co-op, where up to three players can take on each level's challenges for better rewards. The Single Player is just the appetizer, though. Most action games I've played require some for of option-tweaking before I can really get into them, but that wasn't the case here. I have to say, I'm thoroughly impressed with just how smooth they are. It also avoids the common pitfall of control problems. Waves ramp up nicely, both in terms of difficulty and payout, and it doesn't take much to start earning the big guns. It's fairly simple-yet-addicting fun in Single Player, what with the constant allure of better stuffs. ![]() After a few matches players can use funds earned to purchase new gear, which in-turn provide various bonuses including increased health or boosted cash drops. The maps and enemy waves (it's a wave survival shooter, did I neglect to mention that?) are largely the same for both, save the inclusion of a couple more players, but either choice makes for a good start. Right off the bat players have two choices: Single Player or Co-op. There's not much of a story here, but the exposition is enough to get the ball rolling. Star Warfare:Alien Invasion is about exactly what the title implies. Thankfully I've had the chance to play it so I can do my part to ensure that people don't pass this particular fancy. Sure the graphics are nice enough and there are lots of pretty colors, but it looks far too "cute" (for lack of a better descriptor) to be anything more than a passing fancy. I'd forgive anyone for taking one look at the screen shots for Star Warfare:Alien Invasion and thinking it's not all that interesting.
