I've noticed that HBO seems to be aggressive about their shows at times and I've gotten a bunch of HBO stuff in the past and I'm just assuming that this time I was just DLing something at the wrong time. Just curious if Comcast is watching me now that they have had a complaint sent to them or if they don't care. So Comcast doesn't require me to do anything about this Notice of Action? I can just ignore it and they won't be like hay, why haven't you contacted us about this? Historically, how does Comcast respond to complaints being filed against its customers? I've heard about some responding aggressively, some don't care and do nothing, some have an unofficial 3 strike thing, and some just use scare tactics and send scary emails and stuff. The going to court thing doesn't concern me as I'm a minnow in an ocean among other much larger fish the RIAA/MPAA/DMCA/ETC/watev. Just the one email about the one file.ĭo I need to follow up on the email or is this just a notice from Comcast saying to watch it? Our internet wasn't turned off or anything. Or is it HBO getting on Comcast's ass lately trying to hunt for some big fish? Is Comcast just telling me to knock it off on the bandwidth or will they do anything? I'm also wondering, why now? Is it because I'm using up a crazy amount of bandwidth lately and this is a way of Comcast telling me to lay off for a bit? I mean, I'm sure Comcast prolly knows about at least ONE other allegedly illegally downloaded file I've been downloading in the past decade. The last 31 days has prolly been the most busiest 31 days too as I am down to a two day part time job and have been catching up on shows/movies/video podcasts. So a decade or so and we get our first notice. It gives an Abuse Incident Number and says to please contact the Comcast Security Assurance at some phone number. Comcast sent us an email saying HBO or whoever caught me DLing True Blood episodes from a torrent. So we just got our first notice of infringement from the DMCA.
